Bardwell Voice play a central role in the evaluation of our school and plan for future improvements. They represent the views of pupils and students across the school on matters either raised by fellow pupils, staff or governors.

The students form a non-decision making group through which views can be expressed and heard (this will be over seen by the staff responsible for Bardwell Voice and the Bardwell Voice link Governor).

The group meets 6 times a year (half-termly) to discuss any aspect of school life that is important to our pupils.

Members of Bardwell Voice also link directly with the Governing Body, who seek their views in key issues and decisions that the Governors consider. This is facilitated by either members of the group joining governor meetings or through our link Governor; Liz Yardley.

Throughout 2016/17 Bardwell Voice have identified the following focuses:

  • Complete an inspection of the school and identify what is going well and what could be improved.

  • Reviewing the quality of school meals.

  • Improve play times for all pupils.

Other processes

  • The council will nominate a chair and also invite a second member of staff to support their work.

  • Council representatives will seek the views of their peers on matters for discussion.

  • The council will be democratically selected on an annual basis.

NB: Separate to Bardwell Voice we also run Interact/Rotakids Clubs with the support from our local Rotary Club. This is the first such club of it’s kind in the UK.

The main focus of this club is our link with Chilenje School in Zambia.
